Server Technician

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Server Technician to install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual server environments for enterprise clients. The ideal candidate will ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of server infrastructure that powers business-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux servers in enterprise environments.
• Perform server upgrades, patches, and security updates to ensure system stability.
• Manage and monitor storage systems, backups, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Troubleshoot hardware, network, and performance issues in real time.
• Collaborate with IT and network teams for smooth infrastructure integration.
• Implement virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, or Proxmox.
• Maintain detailed documentation of configurations and maintenance procedures.
• Support on-call rotations for server and infrastructure incidents.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Engineering.
• 2–4 years of hands-on experience in server administration and maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS), and Active Directory.
• Familiarity with VMware, Hyper-V, and RAID configurations.
• Experience with backup tools, storage management, and monitoring systems.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, firewalls, and IP configurations.
• Excellent problem-solving and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, RHCE, or VMware VCP.
• Experience managing cloud-hosted servers (AWS, Azure).
• Familiarity with ITIL processes or enterprise ticketing systems.
